Concordia St. Paul Commencement

2024 Spring Semester Commencement

The university is planning three spring commencement ceremonies that will take place on May 3 and May 4 at the Gangelhoff Center Arena on campus at Concordia University, St. Paul. Once RSVPs are received, a more detailed program breakdown will be determined. Participating students will be notified via email which ceremony they will be assigned to the week of March 11, and this page will be updated accordingly at that time.

  • Friday, May 3 | 7:30 p.m. – Traditional Undergraduate Programs
  • Saturday, May 4 | 10:00 a.m. & 2:00 p.m. – Global Undergraduate, Graduate, and Doctoral Programs

Frequently Asked Questions

  • All students completing degree requirements must complete the application for program completion before March 1. This form and additional information can be found on the Registrar’s Program Completion & Commencement page.

    Once the online form is completed, students are placed on the commencement eligibility list.

  • The RSVP form will be sent via CSP email to all eligible students (those who complete the application for program completion) in early February. This form must be submitted by March 4.

  • Students completing degree requirements this summer are able to participate in the spring or fall ceremony. Please talk with your academic advisor if you have questions

  • Students who plan to participate in the ceremony are required to secure their attire through CSP’s approved vendor.

    • The price will be approximately $60-$140, depending on the earned degree.
    • Information to secure your attire will be sent to your CSP email the week of March 11.
  • Each student will receive at least six guest tickets. This number may increase after the university reviews RSVP submissions. Information to secure the tickets will be sent in mid-March.

  • Graduates will receive an email the week of March 11 indicating their ceremony time.

  • Honors listed in the commencement program will be estimated if your degree is not yet awarded and may change based on your final grades and cumulative GPA when your degree is awarded.

    Only undergraduate degree-completing students are eligible to earn honors. Graduate students are not eligible for Latin Honors.

    Undergraduate students who complete 60 or more credits at CSP and meet the following GPA requirements will earn Latin honors:

    • 3.6 – 3.74 Cum Laude
    • 3.75 – 3.89 Magna Cum Laude
    • 3.9 – 4.0 Summa Cum Laude

    Undergraduate students who complete 59 or fewer credits at CSP and meet the following GPA requirements will earn honors:

    • 3.75 – 3.89 with Distinction
    • 3.9 – 4.0 with High Distinction

    The honors earned, if any, at the time your degree is awarded will be printed on your transcript and diploma. If your degree is awarded after the commencement ceremony and your estimated honors changed, you may request to exchange your medallion or pin by contacting the Registrar’s Office at 651-641-8233 or registrar@csp.edu.

  • Yes. The Registrar’s Office will review student records for degree awarding after final grades are posted to the student record (one week after the end of the term). This process can take 2-3 weeks.

    The university prints diplomas monthly and sends a congratulatory email once that process is completed. An official transcript can be used as proof of degree. We highly encourage you to check your unofficial transcript prior to requesting the official.

    Diplomas will be mailed to the permanent address on your student record.

  • The December ceremony will take place on Saturday, December 14, 2024. The time will be determined in the fall.
