• To apply for on-campus housing at CSP, traditional incoming students must first gain admission to the university.
• Incoming first-year students must submit the $200 enrollment deposit along with the housing application to be placed in housing.

  • Students who submit their enrollment deposit (first-year students only) and housing application by the first week of June

• Students requiring any housing or meal accommodations should complete the housing accommodation form and contact Student Accessibility Services at sas@csp.edu as soon as possible when applying for housing. The deadline for accommodation requests is May 1.

Please find the latest student policies below. This provides important information on our policies and procedures.

• STUDENT POLICIES

Research in student development and our own student experiences indicate that residential living supports student transition to a university. Residential living for new students may ease student transition to the CSP environment and provide significant support for the inherent challenges of heightened academic rigor and increased independence in the first year of college.

Luther and Wollaeger: These two halls close during Christmas/Winter break in December. These buildings do not have access to a kitchen and therefore, do not stay open. First-year students living in these halls must make arrangements over this break time.

Holst and Hyatt: These two halls stay open from move in day in August to move out day in early May! Students living in these buildings can stay, at no extra cost, throughout breaks. Holst and Hyatt residents have access to a kitchen area and therefore, are able to cook for themselves throughout breaks. We do require students to sign up for break housing. Emails are sent prior to the break period by Residence Life staff.

Note: Dining Hall provides limited service over breaks and is completely closed over Christmas/Winter break.

A resident assistant (RA) is a student staff member working and living in a residence hall. Resident assistants provide support, guidance and assistance for resident students. RAs also engage residential students in meaningful experiences to learn about themselves, about others and develop leadership skills to use after graduation.

How can my Resident Assistant (RA) be of service to me?

RAs are your first point of contact for any questions you have about CSP. They are also great for connecting you with other staff members, student organizations, or offices to help you get connected. They’re a great person to go to if you are having any problems or just need someone to talk to. They also help build a community on your floor or in your pod through programming – they create fun and helpful bulletin boards and put on events for your floor and your whole hall, such as pizza nights, spa programs, and sports watch parties.

The application will be available in January of each year.

All residents in Hyatt, Luther, and Wollaeger must be on the full meal plan. Holst residents can opt out, be on the Holst meal plan, or upgrade to the full meal plan. If you feel that you need to opt out of a meal plan because of an accommodation, you should reach out to Student Accessibility Services (SAS) sas@csp.edu to talk about your options.

Flex Points (which is what we call our meal plan dollars) expire at the end of each semester.  You will have the opportunity to purchase items in bulk through the dining hall towards the end of each semester to use up your extra points. You also can donate unused points to Comet’s Cupboard food shelf.

Our staff hand-picks all roommates who do not have a roommate request. There is a section on the housing application for you to complete that we use to help match you with a good roommate – we really encourage you to be honest in this section.

You can also attend one of our Admitted Student Day events to meet other incoming students!

Guests of the opposite gender may be invited into residence hall rooms only within established visitation hours for that hall.

• Visitation hours for Luther Hall, Wollaeger Hall, and Hyatt Village are 10:00 a.m. to midnight Sunday-Thursday and 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 a.m. Friday-Saturday.
• Holst Hall does not have set visitation hours; however, guests of the opposite gender are not allowed to spend the night.

We have many student organizations and offices that host events almost every single day. The Concordia Activities Board (CAB) also has fun programs happening on a weekly basis. To stay up to date on what is happening during the upcoming week, check out Suitable.

Residence Life will not share information with parents, friends, or family members unless it is an emergency and information needs to be shared for the safety and security of the resident.

This depends. We would discuss the number of credits you’ve completed and your age. Based on those items, we will determine if our first-year halls might be best for you, or if we think you would fit well in our apartment-style housing.

Holst Hall: There are 68 four-bedroom apartments, 9 two-bedroom apartments, and 7 studio apartments in Holst Hall. Studio and two-bedroom apartments cost more and are not guaranteed as space is limited. Apply online and specify your desired living option.

Residence Halls: A limited number of single rooms are available in Luther, Wollaeger and Hyatt on a space-available basis. For more information, contact Residence Life at residencelife@csp.edu.

The custodial team prioritizes the cleaning and sanitizing of common areas, such as bathrooms (in Luther and Wollaeger), lounges, lobbies, hallways, laundry rooms, and community lounges. These cleanings are scheduled throughout the week, with a daily emphasis on common-touch locations.

The best option is to inform your RA about any work or repair needs. They will be able to submit the proper documentation and inform professional staff.

There are no keys for the residence halls – all access is on the student ID. If students lose their Student ID, they must pay $10 at the cashier’s office and bring the receipt to the Security Office to print a new ID. If the student ID card breaks, a student can bring the broken card to the Security Office to get a new card at no charge.

Quiet hours for all halls are Sunday–Thursday, 10:00 p.m.– 9:00 a.m. and Friday-Saturday midnight–10:00 a.m. During these hours, music, voices, etc, are to be contained within the room or apartment. Courtesy hours are always in place, and noise levels need to be kept at a reasonable level.

Yes. On-campus community laundry facilities are located in all residence halls on campus. This service is free to students who are assigned to that hall.

CSP has campus security staff on duty 24/7. Security does rounds of campus, including the residence halls, throughout the day. RA’s also do checks of the residence halls each night to check for facility concerns or any other items that may need to be addressed.

CSP employs the OpenPath system, which allows students to access buildings using their mobile devices in addition to key cards.

Yes! We have summer spaces in Holst Hall. Students looking for summer housing must have a university-related reason for living on campus over summer months (athletics, on-campus employment, classes). Summer applications will be available beginning in March.

Mini-fridge: Residents in Luther, Wollaeger, and Hyatt may have a personal refrigerator that is four cubic feet or less. Holst Hall does not permit personal refrigerators as each apartment is equipped with a full-size refrigerator/freezer.  Additional freezers are not permitted in any hall.

Microwaves: St. Paul City ordinance prohibits food preparation in residence hall sleeping rooms. Therefore, no microwaves are allowed in the rooms in Hyatt, Luther, or Wollaeger. Microwaves and toasters are provided in each of the lounge areas in these halls. Holst Hall has a microwave in each kitchen.

In the apartments in Holst Hall – The kitchens have a full-size refrigerator, stove, and microwave. The common areas have a table and chairs, a 3-piece sectional, end table, coffee table, and an entertainment center. Each bedroom will have a bed, desk, desk chair, dresser, and pedestal.

In Hyatt, Luther, and Wollaeger – Each room has a bed, desk, desk chair, and wardrobe for each resident.

Only fish are allowed in the halls as pets unless it is a service animal or ESA that is registered and approved through Student Accessibility Services (SAS). Contact SAS at sas@csp.edu.

It’s up to you. Student-athletes may choose to live with other student-athletes, or with students who do not participate in athletics. The CSP community is tight-knit across different areas of interest and activities.

Yes – There is one in Holst Hall and one in Hyatt that all residents have access to. They are open daily from 7:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m.

Reach out to your RA – they are full of resources and are always happy to lend a listening ear. Student Accessibility Services and Health Resources has many resources as well. You can email sas@csp.edu or counseling@csp.edu to schedule an appointment.

CSP Ministry is available to meet students as well. You are also welcome to come by the Residence Life Offices in Meyer 111 – we would love to get to know and support you.

We strive to make our residence halls communities where everyone is welcomed and respected. Because of this, you’ll often become very close with your roommates and floormates. There are lounges where you can do homework together, play games, or watch something on the TV. We also have in-hall workout facilities you can access.

Finally, our residence life staff put on programs regularly, ranging from outdoor cookouts to Bob Ross painting sessions to de-stressing kits. If you have ideas for a program or event that would be good in your hall, reach out to your RA to share it.

All residential students can connect to the University Wi-Fi using their student credentials. For information on the gaming wi-fi, please contact the Information Technology Help Desk at helpdesk@csp.edu. In Holst Hall, there are hard-wired wall ports in each bedroom.  You need to email the Help Desk with your apartment number and the port number for this to be activated.

Each of the residence hall rooms has an ethernet port in the room. This ethernet port is turned off by default. If you are a student living on campus and need your port active for your technology activities, please complete the form below. Please be aware that during busy times it may take the IT department several business days to activate the port.
