Program Details

CSP has proudly equipped teachers with the tools to be influential instructors for nearly 60 years. By completing this social studies degree and other state requirements, students will be eligible to apply for a Minnesota teaching license for social studies (5-12).

The degree starts with general requirements that prepare future teachers to lead a classroom. Before transitioning into social studies-specific classes, you will complete six core areas: communication, social science, mathematics, science, humanities, and religion and theology.

Next, dive into your area of interest as the program moves through key social studies concentrations, including history, geography, economics, sociology, and psychology. You’ll learn from professors passionate about education and excited to train the next generation of teachers.
