Dr. Sarah Jahn

Associate Professor of Mathematics

Dr. Sarah Jahn began teaching at Concordia in 2004, after teaching high school mathematics in the Chicago area for 12 years.  She has an MS degree in Mathematics with a Math Education emphasis from Northeastern Illinois University and MS and PhD degrees in Pure Mathematics from University of Illinois at Chicago. Her lifelong passion is mathematics education and she works closely with the Education department at Concordia to make sure that all prospective teachers receive the best preparation possible to teach mathematics in K-12 classrooms.

She teaches a wide variety of math courses at Concordia, has developed and teaches the Teaching 9-12 Math course, and serves as an academic advisor and University Supervisor for all future high school math teachers at Concordia. Her areas of interest include Math Education, Geometry, and Number Theory and its application to Cryptography.  She is currently serving as President Elect for the North Central Section of the Mathematical Association of America.
