Dr. Debra Beilke

Dr. Debra Beilke loves exploring the world of humans and the humans of the world through literature.  She received her Ph.D. in English from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in a past century and has been teaching full-time at Concordia University, St. Paul since then. Her specialty is in American literature, and she finds the Puritans can actually be quite entertaining.  She also teaches general education courses, upper-level world literature courses, and literature courses in the MFA-Creative Writing program. Dr. Beilke is especially interested in literature from Africa and the Middle East.  She would take it as a compliment if you called her a “crazy cat lady” or a Wisconsin “cheese head.”
