What Is Test-Optional?
Concordia University, St. Paul’s standard first-year student admission requirements include completing a free application and submitting high school transcripts. Because we recognize that a student’s academic work and grade point average reflected within their transcripts are significant predictors for academic success, the Test-Optional policy means students have a choice of whether to submit test scores for admission application review.

If you have strong high school grades and/or have taken college preparatory curriculum, but do not feel that your standardized test scores reflect your academic ability, we do not need to consider the test scores as part of the admissions process. However, if you feel your ACT or SAT scores are an accurate reflection of your academic abilities, you are welcome and encouraged to submit them for consideration.
Additionally, students applying for an education program are encouraged to submit the ACT Plus Writing or SAT scores as passing scores may meet statutory requirements for a skills exam in reading, writing and math.

Applicants with Narrative Transcripts or non-letter grade evaluations, as well as applicants who are homeschooled, are still required to submit a standardized test score as part of their application.
Division II Athletes
While student athletes can choose test-optional for admission to the university, they must still send their ACT or SAT scores to the NCAA Eligibility Center.International Students
International students will not be impacted by the test-optional policy.
