Serving your country doesn’t mean giving up on your goal of completing your bachelor’s degree or earning your master’s degree. Our programs offer the flexibility and convenience military members need to earn their degrees, even when military service makes schedules unpredictable. Most of our students in the military continue their program without interruption during deployment.

Benefits

  • The Montgomery G.I. Bill is a military benefit for eligible active duty service members and veterans (MGIB-AD/Chapter 30) and eligible selected reservists (MGIB-SR) administered through the US Department of Veterans Affairs. These benefits do have a time limit depending on when you served.

    If you are currently serving in the U.S. Armed Forces, your education office is a great place to learn more about your benefits.

  • The Veteran Readiness and Employment Program (VR&E/Chapter 31) provides veterans and active duty service members who have been in the workforce and have used their benefits but were disabled while serving in the military to obtain employment and independent living services.

  • Eligible veterans of the US armed forces receiving full Chapter 33/GI Bill® benefits can earn an undergraduate or graduate degree tuition-free from Concordia University St. Paul. Housing and other fees still apply.

    Determine if you’re eligible for a GI Bill® and what type: New Chapter 33 (Post 9/11 GI Bill®), Chapter 30, Chapter 31, Chapter 1606.

  • The Minnesota GI Bill® program was established in 2007 to provide post-secondary financial assistance to eligible Minnesota veterans and service members as well as eligible spouses and children of deceased or severely disabled eligible Minnesota veterans.

    Full-time undergraduate or graduate students may be eligible to receive up to $5,000 per academic year.

Scholarship

  • Awarded to newly accepted students enrolling in a CSP Global undergraduate program at up to $2,000 ($500/term). Eligible students must be enrolled full-time and meet the following criteria:

    • Have completed an associate’s degree or MnTC at a partner school
    • Are employed at one of our partner schools
    • Are employed at one of our partnering organizations
    • Are active members within an LCMS congregation
    • Have had a family member attend Concordia University, St. Paul
    • Are members of Phi Theta Kappa (one-semester minimum membership)
    • Are members of the military, veterans, or spouses not using military benefits

    *Please note: ABSN & DMS students do not qualify for this scholarship.

Discount

  • Bachelors Active Duty Rate

    CSP offers a special military tuition rate for current Active Duty, National Guard and Reserve Component Service Members, and current Military Spouses of these members. Service Members must provide their Military Duty Orders or a Leave and Earnings Statement (LES) within the last six months of their acceptance to the University. Spouses must provide a copy of their marriage license and their partner’s Duty Orders or LES.

    • Bachelor’s tuition rate for those who qualify: $250/credit
    • Please note: The AAS in Diagnostic Medical Sonography and Accelerated Nursing – ABSN students, as well as Veterans, Retired Military, and Spouses of non-current U.S. Military Service Members, are not eligible for this benefit
    • Students must be in good standing to qualify.

    Masters Active Duty Rate

    CSP offers a special military tuition rate for current Active Duty, National Guard and Reserve Component Service Members, and current Military Spouses of these members. Service Members must provide their Military Duty Orders or a Leave and Earnings Statement (LES) within the last six months of their acceptance to the University. Spouses must provide a copy of their marriage license and their partner’s Duty Orders or LES.

    • Master’s tuition rate for those who qualify: $350/credit
    • Please note: The Educational Specialist (EdS), Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT), Doctor of Education (EdD), and Doctor of Kinesiology (EdD & PhD) students, as well as Veterans, Retired Military, and Spouses of non-current U.S. Military Service Members, are not eligible for this benefit.
    • Students must be in good standing to qualify.

General John W. Vessey, Jr. Veterans Resource Center

The General John W. Vessey, Jr. Veterans Resource Center is where veterans and/or dependents of veterans can receive assistance in learning about and utilizing all the benefits afforded them at Concordia. The primary service of the Center is helping veterans with the paperwork process to receive financial aid at Concordia from the federal government.
