WHO IS AN INTERNATIONAL STUDENT?

Concordia University considers you an international student if:

  • You will need an F-1 student visa to study in the U.S.
  • You will be studying in the U.S. in any other eligible nonimmigrant status (i.e. an H-4 visa).
  • You are not a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or refugee, and if you are on a temporary visa or require a visa to study in the United States. If you are a U.S. citizen living overseas, or with multiple nationalities (i.e. have dual citizenship) and plan on entering the U.S. on your U.S. passport, you are not considered an international applicant.

Undergraduate International Student

You are considered an undergraduate student if you are:

First-Year: You are still in high school or you have not enrolled in any college or university since graduating high school
Transfer: An applicant with a valid F-1 visa transferring from a university or college

graduate International Student

You are considered a graduate student if you have completed a bachelor’s degree and are seeking a graduate or master’s level degree

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • Completed applications are reviewed weekly and students can expect a decision within 3-5 days of all completed documents being submitted. Note, during high volume times or when CSP has been closed, there may be an additional delay. Find the latest status on your application by logging into the application portal.

  • Once you have completed your acknowledgment of acceptance and paid your deposit, an electronic I-20 will be processed and emailed to you.

  • Tuition varies on your student type, please refer to our tuition page for further details and fees that may pertain to international students.

  • If you have already applied, please include your application number in the subject or body of your email for quick reference.
