First-Year Student Admission Requirements

  • Create an account and submit our online application.  Once submitted, you can follow your application process through the application portal.

  • Request your official transcript from your high school. Transcripts must be submitted to CSP through a secure online portal or in a sealed envelope to the Office of Admissions.

  • Please submit a typed essay you would like your admissions counselor to consider in the application review process.  Minimum of 500 words suggested.  Submit as a PDF document through your application portal or via email.

    CSP Essay Question:
    Please describe a life experience (academic or personal) that has shaped you as a person. How will this experience impact your success as a college student at Concordia University, St. Paul?

    Essays should answer the question above, or may be an essay submitted as part of the Common Application or other college preparatory requirement (ie. College Possible essay).

  • *Concordia has a test-optional admissions policy, and thus, applicants are not required to submit ACT or SAT scores as part of the admissions process.

    Applicants who would like their scores considered as part of their application review are welcome to send official scores (writing test not required) to CSP.

Transfer Student Admission Requirements

  • Create an account and submit our online application.  Once submitted, you can follow your application process through the application portal.

  • Submit official transcripts from all previous institutions attended.

    *To be considered official, transcripts must be received in a sealed envelope from the institution or through secured electronic delivery.

    If you have attended a MNSCU college or university we also ask that you provide an official accompanying DARS or MnTC goal area worksheet. Concordia accepts completed goal areas toward our general education requirements, in addition to course-by-course review. Please contact your admissions counselor with any questions.

Transfer students with fewer than 20 college credits completed will also need to submit an official high school transcript and essay.

  • Concordia University, St. Paul offers a variety of educational options for individuals with a bachelor’s degree who are seeking initial/additional licensure or certification.

    Please refer to the transfer student application requirements in order to be considered for post-baccalaureate admissions.

  • Concordia students need to be readmitted to the university if they have been out of classes for more than one term.

Community College partners make the difference

Our partnerships with many area community colleges offer students a streamlined opportunity to take the next step in their education. If you have an associate’s degree, you can benefit from a seamless transfer of credits allowing you to maximize the value of your current education and get a head start on your next degree at CSP. Additionally, transfer students are eligible for a $2,000 partnership scholarship that can be applied toward your bachelor’s degree.

  • Online application
  • Submit official transcripts from your previous regionally accredited institution(s) with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0 based on a 4.0 system.
    • If you have attended a MNSCU college or university we also ask that you provide an official accompanying DARS or MnTC goal area worksheet. CSP Global accepts completed goal areas.
  • Additional Requirements
    • Access to a computer that meets CSP Global’s technology requirements.
    • Students who do not meet initial admissions criteria may be asked to complete the academic success essay and/or provide additional documentation.

Admissions Decisions

Admissions decisions will be made within 2-3 business days. Our Admissions Committee will review files that do not meet initial admissions criteria and these decisions will be made within one business week. Students who do not meet initial admissions criteria will be asked to complete the academic success essay and may be asked for additional documentation upon review.
